Elden Ring PvP Builds

Level 30 Poison/BleedWretch

Strong but balanced low level invasion buildthat usesRadagon's Soreseal, applies poison increasing it's attack power, and usesReduviaas a finisher. Both swords used can be replaced with your preference, as long as you canpower stance and applypoison affinitytoboth.

  • Class: Wretch
  • Flask Spread: 1 FP, remaining flasks HP
  • Weapon:Warhawk's Talon+2(Left),Cane Sword+2(Right),Reduvia+1
  • Shield:Pillory Shield+2
  • Armor: Any Medium Weight Set
  • Primary Stats: 28Arcane,31 (26 base)Vigor
  • Secondary Stats:23 (13 base)Dexterity
  • Skills:Ash of War: Carian Retaliation(Shield),Ash of War: Poisonous Mistand/orAsh of War: Poison Moth Flight(Swords),Reduvia Blood Blade
  • Spells: None
  • Amulets:Radagon's Soreseal,Dragoncrest Shield Talisman+2or variants,Kindred of Rot's Exultation,Millicent's ProsthesisorGreen Turtle Talisman

Starting off, power stanceyour straight swords. Power stancing is using each sword in a different hand, then executing attacks with L1 on controller; right click on PC. The diagonal crossing motion onthe first two parts of the combo very rapidly applies poison. Don't underestimate the rest of your combo too. After applying pressure with the poison, continue to apply pressure with more power stancing or switch to your off-hand, Reduvia. Reduvia's normal attacks are good at staggering low poise targets at close range, and also good as a surprise albeit tiny close gap with it's heavy attack, good for punishing rolls too. If you're tired, just use it's ability,Reduvia Blood Blade, a spammable, fast casting skill that fires a medium range projectile, applying big bleeds from a safe distance.

Level 60 St. Trina'sConfessor

Strong but balanced medium level invasion build that usesRadagon's Soreseal. The build revolves around applying sleep with theSword of St Trina's power stance, with aPulley Crossbowas off-hand, using Sleepbone Bolts for a close to medium range 3 shot sleep burst. Death's Poker is there for a stylish finisher or for higher poise targets, though it doesn't apply sleep but frostbite.

  • Class: Confessor
  • Flask Spread: 1 FP, remaining in HP
  • Weapon:Sword of St Trina+3,Sword of St Trina+3 (Off-hand),Death's Poker+3,Pulley Crossbow(Off-hand)+3
  • Shield: None
  • Armor: Any Medium Weight Set
  • Primary Stats: 14Intelligence,17 (12 base)Strength,18 (13 base)Dexterity
  • Secondary Stats: 25 (20 base)Endurance,49 (44 base)Vigor
  • Skills:Mists of Slumber(Sword of St. Trina),Ghostflame Ignition(Death's Poker)
  • Spells: None
  • Amulets:Radagon's Soreseal,Rotten Winged Sword InsigniaorWinged Sword Insignia,Green Turtle Talisman,Dragoncrest Greatshield Talismanor variants

To start off, power stanceyour Swords of St. Trina.Power stancing is using each sword in a different hand, then executing attacks with L1 on controller; right click on PC.The diagonal crossing motion on the first two parts of the combo very rapidly applies sleep. Sleep works differently from the way it works in small targets in PvE, in which it doesn't open up the target for a critical hit, but instead, breaks his stance for a good while, allowing you to back away and recover stamina, chain the rest of your combo, or pull off a Ghostflame Ignition. You have tobe carefulwhen you want to use your sleep openings to deal big damage, as if you hit the target right after the sleep procs, it will cancel the sleep animation. Plus, the sleep animation is not the longest, so act swiftly and know what you want to go for before it happens. Do not get discougared though, as the bread and butter of this build comes from chaining your power stance attacks and sleeps and it's quite easy. If you open up with the first two parts of your power stance combo, most players at this level will be put to sleep, as it's a fast and unforgiving sequence of attacks, albeit short ranged. If someone is resisting your sleeps, try using Mists of Slumber. The ability itself is very situational, not to say bad, but it buffs your sword with even more sleep. From here, finish your combo to heavily damage a single target. The Ghostflame Ignition is another possible outcome of your sleeps. A quick swap for your off-hand Death's Poker will allow you to cast it's skill but do not forget it has a second part: a light attack will blow the flame into a trail of ghostflame, but a heavy attack will blow the flame into a massive explosion for big damage; and that's what you want to go for when your target is put to sleep.

Level 75 Sanguine Lightning Assassin

Medium level invasion build with emphasis on high damage output from stealth. Designed to combat multiple Furled Finger/Hunter enemies by taking out the host in a single, powerful attack. However, the required items can be extremely difficult to obtain at level 75 and in a single playthrough.

  • Class:Samurai
  • Flask Spread:8 red/6 blue (4 red/3 blue as a phantom).Flask of Wondrous Physick:Dexterity-knot Crystal TearandLightning-Shrouding Cracked Tear
  • Weapons:Bolt of Gransax(easiest)and/orDragon King's Cragblade
  • Shield:Optional
  • Armor:Okina Maskfor +3 dex orConsort's Maskfor +1 dex
  • Primary Stats:40Dexterity, 20Strength
  • Secondary Stats:That's up to you and your playstyle. I have high endurance so I can dual wield theBolt of Gransax, theDragon King's Cragbladeand 2 light weapons. Use light weapons to apply anyAshes of Waryou want to use otherwise.
  • Skills:Ash of War: Bloodhound's Stepis incredibly useful for getting out of situations where you are outnumbered. I haveAsh of War: Beast's Roaron the left weapon for a faster ranged option than swapping to theBolt of Gransaxto chase down a healer.
  • Spells:Optional depending on your stat allocation
  • Talismans:There are a lot of useful talismans for this build but, these are the 4 I use currently.Concealing Veil,Shard of Alexander,Godfrey Icon, andMillicent's Prosthesis.

The previously mentioned talismans will make weapon abilities incredibly powerful. Before you invade, have Bloodhound's step ready in case the host and phantoms are waiting for you on the spawn point. If they are, break away and use aPhantom Bloody Fingerto reposition and find a safe place to enter stealth. When you crouch with theConcealing Veilequipped, you become invisible to Player enemies from outside a certain distance (approximately 5 medium rolls) away from the observer. When you have entered stealth, sneak near the host and find a decent vantage point to either snipe with theBolt of Gransax'sAncient Lightning Spearor an opening to rush in with theDragon King's Cragblade'sThundercloud Form. Always plan for the attack to miss so you can be prepared to reposition somewhere else to fire another shot.

Be prepared to use the Flask of Wondrous Physick. A lot of hosts in this level range will go down in a single hit, however if they have either obtained or been given higher level gear, you will need to buff with the FoWP. If they have anyGreat Runesequipped, a gold circle icon will appear next to their health bar, ALWAYS assume it'sGodrick's Great Runeand use the FoWP to get the increase in damage, you will need it.

The level 150 version of this build is still WiP

Level 80/90 Sorcerer Duelist

NOTE: Patch 1.05 changed how chain casting works with sorceries making them much clunkier in general. I will update this build but as of the current patch this is no longer (close to) optimal.

PvP duel build for meta level 80-90, combining versatile and high-damage spells with decent poise and life pool for trading. Most of the items are easily obtainable at this level, with maybe the exception of Veteran's Armor and Graven-Mass Talisman. An easy to way to power through the story with this build is with Comet Azur+ Cerulean Hidden Tear tech.

  • Class:Astrologer
  • Flask:Flask of Wondrous Physick:Intelligence-knot Crystal TearandMagic-Shrouding Cracked Tear
  • Weapons:Carian Glintblade Staff+15/+17(Right),Azur's Glintstone Staff+6/+7(Left),Dagger/Shield(Optional Left softswap forparry/quickstepetc.)
  • Armor:Queen's Crescent Crown(+3 int),Veteran's Armor,any light gloves with >0 poise(e.g.Astrologer Gloves), Banished Knight Greaves
  • Primary Stats:35/40Vigor,55/60(47/52base+8from gear)Intelligence(level 80/90 respectively)
  • Secondary Stats:26Mind,15Endurance(we don't need to meet strength requirement ofAzur's Glintstone Staffto use it)
  • Skills:Optionalparry/quickstepetc.
  • Spells:Carian Slicer,Swift Glintstone Shard,Comet-> CHOOSE FROM:Carian Piercer/Stars of Ruin(if you hate yourself and fun in general)/Glintstone Arc/Magic Glintblade+Collapsing Stars/Shard Spiral/Gavel of Haima/Carian Phalanx/Eternal Darkness/Terra Magica/Anything you want really
  • Talismans:Graven-Mass Talisman,Great-Jar's Arsenal,Stargazer Heirloom,Radagon Icon

Let's start with gear. 40 virtual dex fromAzur's Glintstone Staffplus the 30 fromRadagon Iconputs us over the cast speed cap (if you don't know,Dexterityaffects cast speed capping out at 70, and these two items give us that effect). Imo reaching this cap is mandatory for duelling as it allows us to play super aggro withCarian Slicerin melee range and generally give the opponent less time to react to our spells, which is much more valuable than raw dmg against human players. If you really don't like this playstyle you could switch toLusat's Glintstone Staffand swap outRadagon IconforErdtree's Favor +2/Crimson Amber Medallion +2.Carian Glintblade Staffgives good sorcery scalingwhile boosting dmg of glintblade sorceries (of which I use a lot).Stargazer Heirloomlets us reach the int requirement of azur's staff, andQueen's Crescent Crowngives us the most int for the least extra weight.Veteran's Armorand Banished Knight Greavesputs us to 55 poise (56 with gloves) which is the brekapoint for tanking most 2h/power stance attacks (thoughnot all) with light weapons.Graven-Mass Talismanboosts our sorcery damage by 8% andGreat-Jar's Arsenalgives us enough equip load to medium roll.

In terms of spells, I genuinely believe thatCarian Slicer,Swift Glintstone ShardandCometare sufficient for the majority of matchups if your spacing and reads are decent.Carian Slicerhas amazing damage and will stagger anyone with 30 or lower poise (at this level not everyone invests in this), so combining this with our extra cast speed gives us a reliable melee weapon that hits harder and comes out faster than most others in the game.Swift Glintstone Shardis an excellent poke tool at medium range, and can be chained into a quick-castCometwhich allows for a surprising burst of damage (this will often roll catch if they're charging towards you and try to roll through the SGS).Throw inCarian Piercerfor poke builds (UGS crouch/power stance thrusting/BHS spammers) andEternal Darknessfor casters and we have a very competitive all-rounder. Another great combo is 2xMagic Glintblade->Collapsing Stars. While the timing is tricky and requires practise (and patience), if it hits it is an almost guaranteed one-shot at this level. The trick is to charge-cast the first glintblade, then quick-cast the second as soon as the animation of lowering your staff ends. A moment after casting the second glintblade, castCollapsing Stars. If it hits (and you timed it right), CS will pull the target into the glintblades as they fire (they can't roll out of the pull animation). CS is difficult to dodge as the timing is awkward and there are multiple projectiles (only one needs to hit). Scott Jund has a great video on youtube showing it if you search for it, not sure if I can post video links.

Two more spells I want to mention:Gavel of Haimagot a nice buff in patch 1.04 that gave it some hyperarmor and faster cast time, making it a great tool for trading with heavier weapons. You can even catch people as they're running in as the range is surprisingly large. I generally avoid the followup cast as it's telegraphed and leaves you open on recovery frames. The other spell isAdula's Moonblade. Pre patch 1.04 this was an absolute monstrosity, having a similar wind up toCarian Piercerwhile hitting for insane dmg if you hit the sweetspot. Patch 1.04 made it more reliable to hit but cut the dmg in half so I personally don't think it's worth it anymore but you can definitely use it (similar use case to carian piercer).

Oh yeah and again, please don't useStars of Ruin. Every time you cast it a family of Albinaurics in Mohgwyn Palace gets slaughtered :'(

The Black Bride (Lvl 150+ Blight Sorcerer )

An efficient * Death Blight * build focusing on Death Sorcery and ahighly underratedAsh of War.

Ive seen many people try to use Fias mist, and the Eclipse Shotelto make a death blight build for pvp but they never seem to work. I am here to show you how to make one that not only will allow you to proc death blight on enemies but allow you as well to have a DOMINANT PVP build .

Weapons :
Prince of Death Staff +25 in offhand, Eclipse Shotel +10 in Mainhand.
Golden Order Seal +10 in offhand, (Cold Infused) Grave Scythe with a specific Ash of War called Phantom Slash in your mainhand.

Talismans can be switched out to your liking and play style.F or pure Min/Maxing I would probably use : Magic Scorpion Charm, Shard Alexander, Dragoncrest Greatshield or PearlDrake Talisman, And Graven Mass

Important for this build is using the Winged Crystal Tear so that you dont have to use many points AT ALL into endurance, and even though your walking around with heavy armor, once you pop your physick, you have LIGHT ARMOR for what seems like 2-3 minutes. Light Rolling all over the place. I use Magic Shrouding Tear to supplement the Winged Crystal Tear and give my spells more damage. This also allows me to use whatever armor I want and still light roll, so most of the time i go for looks and then just sub in a Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman to make up for that fact.

Vigor 45 ---- Mind 22 ---- Endurance 13 ---- Strength 17 ---- Dexterity 25 ---- Intelligence 68 (We want the highest amount of Intelligence we can have while still having 47 Faith and having at least 40 Vigor) ---- Faith 47 ---- Arcane- Dont put any points into Arcane.

S PELLS : Ancient Death Rancor, Explosive Ghost Flame, Tibias Summons, Eternal Darkness ++ Fias Mist, Death Lightning
Your Buffs : Your Physick, Golden Vow, Black Flames Protection

In the beggining, make sure to hit your buffs, or most importantly, your physick. And Lay out a cast of Eternal Darkness if your against another magic dealer. as this spell blocks thierspells as long as u stay near it.
Mostly what we are going to want to do is use the spells listed above to cause havok, while still mixing in melee with Phantom Slash.

Ancient Death Rancors tracking is superb without being over powered. It will keep them running and dodging, most likely circling in your direction. This is where we want to cut off thier circling and cast Explosive Ghost Flame. The first time you do this the enemy is most likely going to think that you are casting Death Rancor again, so they will try to close distance and jump you, this is perfect, because if timed right they will only get a face full of ghost flame which will nearly end the fight with its explosion and flame risidual.

'Tibias summons' is also a pretty powerful spell butit* cast time is too long for you to use when your within your enemies strikingdistance, we want to use this on the enemy when he himself is casting something or not doing much moving about, If they hit, this is also a huge damage burst which willtake a massive chunk out of your enemies health bar. (This spell has insane range, so it is also decent for sniping in duels or invasions)

While we are fighting with our spells as described above, we want to have our Grave Scythe out, not the Eclipse Shotel. The shotel is mainly there for finishing off low hp enemys or procing death blight build up, which i will get into next. So whencasting I want you to have your Staff and Grave Scythe out. Do NOT be afraid to get in and do melee damage, but ONLY DO IT with your Ash of War on your Grave Scythe, which is Phantom Slash, This ash of war is HIGHLY under rated. It spawns a phantom out of the ground at high speeds to slash the enemy with a powerful attack that uses your grave scythes weapon stats (cold damage), shortly after the phantom hits, you lunge forth and do the same. THIS CAN BE SPAMMED. Even when your STAGGERED, and EVEN WHEN YOUR DOWNED, you can continue to mash on that skill button, and the phantoms will keep popping up, slashing your opponent as you regain your composure. The phantoms hits also stagger its target. I cannot stress to you enough howunderrated the skill is. (make sure your using target lock on your enemy however, so you can utilize the tracking on the phantom) With the buffs youcasted from the start, your defense stats will be through the roof. Making this caster deceavingly hard to kill. ==Keep, Your, Enemy, Guessing== We dont want to be too predictable.Mix the spells in with the Melee for the best results.

Lastly
when you want to be a troll and hit someone with death blight, which works mostly when the other player is a melee user. This is highly situational only because a majoirty of players know what your up to and are overly cautious when your trying to build death blight. So it mainly only works with melee users who are over confident or ignorant of the death blight condition. --- anyway---We want to use Ancient Death Rancor to make him stick close to you, and then cast a fias mist here and there, as well as keep your Ecipse Shotel out in ur main hand this time, buffed with the skill it comes with, Dodge the enemys big attacks and hit with your shotel here and there to build up blight, The shotel attacks very fast, so the name of the game is to roll and light attack, roll and light attack, sticking near your mist, and when the enemy gives u breathing room be sure to use Death Lightning or Fias Mist to keep up the death blight pockets,Somepvpers arent taking that death blight seriously, and dont knoiw that your eclipse shotel procs it as well, if you can keep the fight near your death blight mist, and hit the player4-5 times with the shotel, you will proc death blight. Even with that being said, it still is a hit or miss gimmick, in which you could probably end the fight alot easier just using your normal spells and grave scythe. But who can resist the satisfaction of watching your enemy become impaled by a blight cactus to instantly end the duel.

very fun build that allows for a wide variety of gameplay in both pvp and pve.

Level 100+Astral Magister
Easy to play Gravity Caster build that can be played once your able to one hand the Fallingstar Beast Jaw, and put substantial points into its 3 attributes while still having vigor.I will describe the build at levels 100+ which is the level i used it on, but itis definately effective at mid level as well.

Weapons: Fallingstar Beast Jaw in Mainhand, Meteor Staff or Academy Glinstone Staff in Offhand. Wing of Astel in Offhand, or any other one handed melee weapon which attacks quickly.
Talismans: Going for defensive charms here withDragoncrest Greatshield Talisman, Crimson Amber Medallion or Erdtrees Favor +2, Shard of Alexander, +Any Talisman of your choice, I continue the defensive stats with Ritual Shield Talisman, but Magic Scorpion Charm is ok too.
Armor: If you do not wish to use the Winged Crystal Tear in your Physick to give yourself light armor and light rolls no matter your equipment load, then I would suggest whatever armor that allows you to medium roll while still having defense. Queens Crescent Crown gives +3 Intel if you want.
Stats: We want to have atleast 40 Vigor, while still having equal amounts of intelligence and strength, and alittle bit more dexterity than either of those. This is because the skill on Fallingstar Beast Jaw scales better with Strength and Dexterity. So you could actually run equal amounts Strength and Dexterity, and slightly less intelligence. As long as these stats are satiated then you arefine. I went with 45 Strength and Intelligence and 60 Dexterity. As far as Mind and Endurance goes, I went with about 18 a piece respectively. And I put no points into arcane or faith.
Skills: Gravity Bolt, Nebula
Spells:Terra Magica, Rock Sling, Collapsing Stars, Stars of Ruin (these are the only spells that I suggest for this build in PVP and keeping with the theme, but ofcourse you could add whatever you like, tho these seem to work best )
There are two other options we can use in our build which go along with the gravity theme and are extremely showy as well as powerful and will surely make you catch other players eyes in the PVP landscape, however they are more difficult to use in aduel and I took them out of the standard build because of that problem. However they are very powerful in invasions instead, where you have the element of surprise and more room. The two other options are using the Ruins Greatsword, (two handed). as well as Starscourge Greatsword (two handed). These can be thrown into this build as is if we are going to use the Winged Crystal Tear in our physick, as they are extremely heavy weapons, and one would never be able to use all 5 of these weapons in one build at the same time without the Wingest Crystal Tear. This gives u about 3 minutes to use the 5 together which is plenty of time for PVP. If using this for any other reason, we would have to use one or two of these weapons at a time. The Ruins Greatsword has a devastating skill called Waves of Destruction, this skill is a straight line Gravity AOE that knocks up enemies and flattens them regardless thier poise. If you can land this in battle your enemy is nearly dead already. Starscourge Greatsword has Starcallers Cry, which is a giant gravity AOE vacuum plus explosion which if both parts of the skill hits in PVP it kills just about any target.
These are the two best farming and PVE weapons I've seen in the game. Period. However, we are talking about PVP, and forduels I suggest keeping those two weapons on the back burner unless your just trying to show out as a Gravity Monster of the Galaxy, or ofcourse if your doing invasions, in which case they shine a lot better than they do in one on one duels.
So Instead, in a duel, we are going to start rounds using your staff and Beast Jaw, we will pop our physick and we will then use Terra Magica, once this is done commense to throwing a few Rock Slings at the enemy, then quickly switch it up to spamming Gravity Bolt at the enemy. Gravity Bolt spams so quickly and freely that it can be used even when the enemy is at close range trying to get a hit off on you, its actually pretty cheesy. It does good damage and staggers, and when the enemy gets too close you can swing the Beast Jaw for big damage. Then roll away and repeat the process. If you are facing an enemy that is really putting pressure on you and not giving you much room, quickly switching to the Wing of Astel gives you a fast attack melee option with a powerful aoe skill that does good work against enemies that are sticking to you like glue. Or you can kite your enemy with Stars of Ruin spam. Easy and Fun

Level 100+SpellbladeDuelist (Can be adjusted for Low-Mid Level Duelers as well)
Different Build that uses exact same stat attributes as the Astral Magister build above, but has completely different weapon set and playstyle, excelling greatly in duels.
Theres nothing holding this build back from being used at a low to medium level as well. Just use the same ratios i use with my stats attributes, mainly equal Strength and Intelligence, with a little more dex.

Weapons:Keen Cross-Naginatain Mainhand,Carian GlintBLADEStaff in Offhand.Twinbird Kiteshield in offhand (make sure it has no skill attached), Claymans Cold Harpoon in mainhand (Optional),
Talismans: Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman, Spear Talisman, Shard of Alexander, +Any Talisman of your choice, I use Magic Scorpion Charm or another defensive Talisman,
Armor: If you do not wish to use the Winged Crystal Tear in your Physick to give yourself light armor and light rolls no matter your equipment load, then I would suggest whatever armor that allows you to medium roll while still having defense.
Stats:I try to have near40 Vigor, equal amounts of intelligence and strength, and alittle bit more dexterity than either of those.Going for a Dex/Int build. I went with 45 Strength and Intelligence and 60 Dexterity. As far as Mind and Endurance goes, I went with about 18 a piece respectively. And I put no points into arcane or faith.
Skills:We want Piercing Fang, on your Keen Cross-Naginata. (The Cross Naginata has nasty range and an extremely fast move set, making it perfect for this build, Peircing Fang is an extremely fast lunging thrust that does massive damage),If you went with the Claymans Cold Harpoon for another ranged damage option and frostbite, we want to go with Ice Spear as itDoes considerable damage plus tons of poise damage, knocking many opponents down.
Spells: Scholars Armament + Two Spells that arebuffed 15% by your Glintblade Staff, Greatblade Phalanx and Magic Glintblade. We can also throw in Carian Peircer to roll catch enemies, and Freezing Mist incase you need somewhere to hide while you cast. These Spells are mostly going to be used as we close distance.
To Start duels we want to buff Scholars Armament on our Cross Naginata, and we want to cast Greatblade Phalanx on ourself. Then we start casting Magic Glintblade 3-5 times as we slowly close in on our enemy. By the time we get close, we most likely will have hit him between the Glintblades and the Greatblades that also rocket toward him as well as your initial attack which will be Peircing Fang once you are within its large range. This gives alot of surprisingly fast ranged attacks that the enemy must dodge, and we want our Magic Glintblades to be somewhat staggered and hard to guess a rythm for. After this opening we want to not be afraid to use light attacks from cross naginata with or without your shield up. Remember, we can attack with shield up with a spear. And you will get great use out of the spear talisman in this build. The Twin Bird Kiteshield gives +10% Defense and +5% Attack when you reach 20% of HP or lower. Giving you a nice little boost for a medium weight shield. Our bread and butter is the Peircing Fang on our buffed Naginata, which we want to use as our main source of damage. Throwing in Magic Glintblades and GreatbladePhalanx's. Makes for a monster in duels, and is easy to pick up and play
